Anti Aging Skin Care Tips
By : Bing's Corner

You've only got one skin, so it's imperative that you take care of it. The sooner you start taking precautions and developing good habits, the easier it will be to maintain youthful looking skin. Even if you start later in life, it is never too late to take care of yourself. From what you eat to how you wash your face, all are important to slow your skin's aging.

Diet

It's common knowledge that what you eat affects your health, but the food you eat also impacts your outward appearance. Olive oil provides a healthy source of antioxidants in the form of vitamin E and keeps your cardiovascular system healthy so that blood flow nourishes your skin. Other sources of healthy oils are avocados, nuts, and sesame and flax seeds. The best source of omega-3 fatty acids come from salmon, sardines and other oily fish. Omega-3 fatty acids are thought to protect the cellular wall from damage, and can help prevent UV rays from damaging your skin.

Facial Care

Washing your skin daily can help keep it glowing. However, washing delicate areas like the eyes and mouth can gradually cause wrinkles if you're not gentle. Do not use drying soaps, instead, look for cleansers specificially designed for the face. Cetaphil makes cleanser that many dermatologists recommend. Use a hot wash cloth to steam your face and open the pores so you can wash away impurities; splash your face with cold water following washing to close your pores again and help keep out impurities.

Facial scrubs can exfoliate the top layer of your skin, which can get clogged with oils and pollution. There are dozens of skin exfoliants available, but be sure the one you use has microbeads. If you're prone to breakouts, choose a night mask with salicylic acid to help prevent blemishes. All skin needs moisturizer as well, although if you have oily skin be sure the product you choose is noncomedogenic.

Good Habits.

Sun exposure is one cause of skin damage that ages everyone's skin. Add years to your appearance by consistently wearing a sunblock of at least 45 SPF with both UVA and UVB protection. That means putting sunblock on every day under your makeup, and avoiding excessive sun exposure. Hats are a stylish way to keep the rays off your face, and don't forget to slather the fragile skin around your decolletage and neck, since these are dead giveaways regarding age.

It is also important to avoid alcohol, get at least eight hours of sleep a night, avoid cigarettes, and exercise. Alcohol is not only dehydrating, which damages the skin, but it also depletes the antioxidant vitamin A.

Smoking cigarettes damages the connective fibers in skin, which causes sagging and wrinkles. Smoking also interferes with circulation, and skin with poor circulation cannot fight oxidant damage efficiently. It has been shown that smoking may be more damaging to your skin than sun exposure.

When you sleep well and exercise, you help support your body's lymphatic and immune systems, which help keep you healthy and biologically young. The saying might go that beauty is only skin-deep, but how you live affects your appearance more than you might suspect.
